We are pleased to welcome you to the Department of Environmental Engineering.
The need for environmental engineers will continue to increase as we strive to cope with an increase in the human population, public awareness, global climate change and Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s). One of our missions is to develop well-educated graduates with the essential skills, attributes and knowledge that will enable them to practice as professional environmental engineers. Our degree programs focus on the development of innovative, resourceful, entrepreneur and creative graduates - future leaders in government agencies, industry, the profession and the community.
The Department of Environmental Engineering was formed in 1998 and the education program was commenced in 1999. The campus is located on the 3rd Floor Building C Department of Civil Engineering Diponegoro University, Tembalang Campus. The Department currently has 22 lecturers, administration staff, and more than 450 students. The Department’s well-equipped laboratories include facilities to study environmental problems through final project.
The Academic staff are also involved in an array of broader community activities including community, government agencies, the private sector, NGO-based committees, and extension work. Co-operative projects aim to improve industrial efficiency while protecting the natural environment, in addition to developing cost-effective approaches to preventing problems later on.
Through our student organization ‘HMTL’ [Environmental Engineering Students’ Association], the Department supports a strong mentoring, work experience, sport, religion and social program for students.
The Department is committed to the highest standards of research and education. The undergraduate programs reflect the problem-driven research. They aim to provide an integrated, seamless education experience, from undergraduate coursework to studies, in a research-intensive environment. Our teaching programs are reviewed and accredited by Indonesian’s Higher Education Accreditation Board to ensure they remain relevant and meet the standard, both in curriculum and facilities.
We encourage you to find out why studying environmental engineering at Department of Environmental Engineering is a truly rewarding experience.
